  • Quarterly GDP reports detailing supply & demand performance and outlook/forecast of Malaysia economics.
  • Periodic economics reports detailing Malaysia economic performance analysis.
  • Undertake strategy reports to assist in investment strategies for clients.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc economics reports pertinent to major/key economic policy changes.
  • Conduct thorough research and generate comprehensive research reports on assigned sector coverage to deliver high standard of research report.
  • Built, develop and maintain financial models to forecast valuation of companies.
  • Develop investment strategies based on assigned sector coverage to be compiled into the team’s strategy report.
  • Present in institutional meetings, webinars and conference calls pertaining to economics reports/major news/etc to instil investment confidence and direction to participants.
  • Present on updates of economics reports in daily morning briefings to provide up-to-date news flow or economics announcement that may impact investment decision to morning briefing attendees.
  • Assist closely the Head of Research on ad-hoc requests pertaining to research role to ensure tasks are completed within stipulated timeframe.
  • Close collaboration with all research analysts to provide broad insights of economics forecast that may assist in all research reports preparation.

Job Requirements

  • Possess a recognised Degree in Economics or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of working experience in buy/sell side equity research (economics role)
  • Holder of Securities Commission Module 12&19/19A license.
  • Strong technical understanding of Malaysia equity markets.
  • Zero adverse record on findings over fit and proper standing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
